Brian serves as Land Agent and Forestry Consultant at Commonwealth Land, Farm and Forestry. With over 30 years of experience, he specializes in rural land sales — including timberland, agricultural cropland, recreational property, and rural estates. Brian began his career at Upton Timber Company in Alberta, Virginia, rising to VP of Operations before leaving industrial forestry to launch a forestry consulting practice in 2004. He expanded into small grain farming in 2012, then joined Commonwealth in 2016 to head Forestry Consulting. Since joining commonwealth, he has completed over 320 transactions totaling more than 30,000 acres and $50 MM in total timber and land sales.

His career highlights include overseeing the 2024 sale of 21 timberland and Higher and Better Use (HBU) tracts across Charles City and New Kent Counties. Brian credits his success to the professional network and relationships he has built over decades, grounded in hard work, integrity, and client trust.

Outside of work, Brian is an avid upland hunter, fly fisherman, and gardener. He and his wife, Shelly, reside in Powhatan County with their black lab, Jessie, and are proud parents of four grown sons.
